In Spain the tooth Fairy is known as “El Ratón Pérez” (Perez Mouse).
There is a special house in the center of Valencia dedicated to the tooth Fairy. And to go here, with children is a must see, especially when the children are between the ages since 4 to 8. It’s a mysterious age when the children lose the teeth and every month one more, for this reason the curiosity to know where the teeth go will be satisfied and they can see firsthand what happened to their discarded teeth in the teeth warehouse of the Ratón Pérez, at 16, Borrull st. in the center of Valencia.
The first thing you have to do is to purchase the entrance tickets, you can do this using the internet web address: www.antiguoalmacendedientes.com, it costs 5,5€ irrespective of age, and the visit lasts 45 minutes, but these 45 minutes seems like 15 minutes.
When we arrived two helpers of Ratón Pérez were waiting for us, and the girl explained everything to us, and she certainly than her homework because she is used to being with children and she was a very beautiful vocabulary and a lot of imagination to improvise when she needs to. In our session not one child was disruptive and it was a group of 25 children, like in a school class.
Well, little miss helper showed us the room where the mouse takes the teeth and also how the teeth arrived there, she mixes all the stories with conservation issues and oral hygiene in a funny and enjoyable way. This was great for the children and the parents.

If you visit Valencia about 4-8 years old, we recommend it visiting this place.
There are several times you can enter, but we chose to visit at 13:00h, and we finished at 13:45h. Previosly we had reserved a restaurant to have lunch at 14:15h, it is near hear and recommended it, now you know why…
La Voltereta is an original restaurant in Valencia.
You can access the Voltereta using the linked website to make a booking. We booked because normally there are queues, so it’s a good idea to book in advance. This way you can have a table when you arrive.
For lunch the offer and menu for 11,90€ and it’s frankly very good!, and there’s a children’s menu for a cheapest price.
We loved the decoration of this place and it’s feel like you are eating in the middle of the street with trees, cobbled floor,… also the waiters are young and very friendly, and last but not least, the food was very good.
It’s not the place to try traditional dishes (this is for another post), but there are options to try some typical seefood. We ate “arroz negro con gambas” (black rise with prawns and garlic). It was good.
